URVI was established in 2008 through a collaboration of socialites and visionary professionals of diverse industries as volunteers. Their common bond was a concern for the improved infrastructure for health and education of people in Rural as well as Urban India, especially women and children. Access to latest technologies and improved basic amenities are clear priorities for all social groups and that is why URVI focuses on these areas. Wherever possible we build on the strengths of traditional practices amongst rural and urban population- but do so in a way which manages the overall empowerment of diverse communities.
URVI operates as a non-government, not for profit organisation which does not serve the interests of any political party or individual. URVI was established according to the requirements of the social welfare of the people of India and has been registered with the appropriate Government departments. Uusualy its more than popular to speak about global change, social impact, social innovations and a lot of different social things leading us to social entrepreneurship. But… the biggest challenge is – HOW to make this “social good” PROFITABLE and how to build the SUSTAINABLE business model at the same time creating the significant IMPACT? URVI is the avenue for Social innovation and Entrepreneurship program full of hackathons – boost camps – incubator – trainings, which is made with passion, love and good will of experienced partners.

URVI wants to encourage all of us – makers, engineers, do-gooders, executives, computer scientists, inventors, innovators – are making things that are not just nice to have, but that people need. URVI wants to join people identifying, prototyping, and scaling technologies and practices making the World Better Place to Live.
It was created to empower all innovators to create social good based on innovations. An Urvian doesn’t like small talks and ideas “on the paper”. URVI was born to have a REAL RESULT in your hands.

Our Aims

URVI aims at improved co-ordination, collaboration, joint participation and understanding amongst constituents of the rural sector for promoting welfare of the rural masses by providing latest knowledge and basic amenities and sound infrastructure for self dependence.
To work with govt departments to reach unfathomable areas of people for whom projects and programs are being designed and launched time to time, to maximize effectiveness and efficiency of the social welfare projects.
Introducing new models of education like community college or vocational education system to sharpen skills and efficiency of school drop outs or people who have just completed elementary education.
To take action as a channelizing, monitoring and mentoring platform for successfully implementing programs involving large amount of public interests.
To commence incorporated programs for the growth and economic development of rural India and strengthening rural economy by allowing them access to the global technology, finances and market.
To build an expert system in association with professionals, research scientists, social activist, technocrats etc ,to resolve major issues relevant to development of Urban and rural India.
To organize and conduct promotional and training programs, entrepreneurial development programs, lectures and seminars for the executives of voluntary organizations, volunteers and target groups and relevant to any of the fields of interest of the constituent members.
To organize essential support and awareness workshops to cop up with natural calamities and undertake and participate in disaster management and rehabilitation specially in Urban areas.
